Costco wines are sourced all over the globe

At Costco, you'll discover the names of esteemed winemakers and wineries, whether you're selecting red, white, or rosé. The Kirkland Premier Cru Chablis is crafted by Pierre Brissy, the winemaker for Jean-Marc Brocard. A 2023 Chablis from this winery recently earned a silver medal at the Cathay Hong Kong International Wine and Spirit Competition. The Kirkland 2021 vintage is priced at $18.99, while the winery's 2022 Premier Cru Chablis averages $43. The Kirkland Signature Côtes de Provence Rosé Wine is made by Olivier Sumerie, who has been producing wine in Provence since the 18th century. Notably, one of his family’s châteaux is believed to be the first vineyard established in France.
Costco collaborates with quality winemakers beyond France as well. Other producers from whom Costco has sourced wines include Alexander Van Beek, who works in both France and Italy, Gianni Maccari of Ridolfi in Montalcino, Sarah Cabot of Precept Wines in Oregon's Willamette Valley, and Broquel Winery in Mendoza, Argentina.
While Costco may no longer hold the title of the largest wine retailer in the U.S., it’s evident that you can find exceptional wines from renowned producers at prices significantly lower than those of the producers' own labels. Be sure to examine the labels on Kirkland Signature wine bottles closely; you might uncover some hidden gems.
