How to properly store Irish cream

The wonderfully creamy texture of Irish cream can be negatively affected by freezing. When cream is frozen, it can become unstable, causing the water and fat to separate. When combined with the other ingredients in the liqueur, freezing and then thawing Irish cream can lead to an unpleasant drinking experience. Interestingly, Irish cream doesn’t actually require refrigeration.
According to Bailey's, the ideal storage temperature for Irish cream is between 32 and 77 degrees Fahrenheit. While you can keep it in the refrigerator if you prefer, a cool, dark place like a pantry or home bar is perfectly fine. Bailey's original recipe, along with most similar brands, can remain stable at room temperature for up to two years, whether opened or unopened. However, other flavors of Irish cream may not have the same shelf life. So, pour yourself a glass of Irish cream over ice while you prepare our Bailey's Irish cream stuffed chocolate recipe, and please avoid the freezer!
